REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:51 PMThe simplest way is the idea of "upcycling" clothing, making modifications to suit your personal style or to make items last longer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:15 PMI can help to make sure that the amount of litter left out is reduced to protect wildlife from consuming it or getting trapped by it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:13 PMI would like to invest more time in reflecting on what I am grateful for in life, as I tend to get too stressed and forget the small but good things in my life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:12 PMI find that the quote is very true for me. The more time we spend indoors the more we forget about the world around us and become isolated from it, allowing us to not see its true value. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:11 PMIt helps to remind you to be more appreciative of the small things in life that tend to be taken for granted. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/22/2025 6:09 PMI am not surprised by this amount. food waste is an issue in all forms of food production, from personal to commercial. This money could better be used to charity donations or on needed repairs to things at home. -
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/15/2025 7:11 PMI feel like it is becoming harder to complete some of my tasks as the challenge goes on, as I picked many actions that require me to spend more time outdoors than I normally would this time of year and forgot how bad my allergies can be from being outside. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureWhat natural gifts are you grateful for?
Kaitlyn Ness 340 4/15/2025 7:09 PMI am most grateful for being able to watch the animals outside and seeing how simple their days may seem in comparison to ours. I keep a bird feeder in the tree outside of my bedroom window and love getting to watch the different birds interact or the occasional squirrels that come and steal seeds while hanging upside down on the feeder's cage.
