Alison's actions
Health
Exercise Daily
Daily movement supports our physical and mental health. I will spend 30 minutes each day exercising in a way that feels good to me, such as walking, running, stretching, or dancing.
Health
Enjoy Fruits and Veggies
Adding fruits and vegetables to our meals nourishes our body and the planet. I will prepare and enjoy 3 servings of a variety of colorful fruits and veggies.
Health
Engage in Joyful Movement
I will spend 30 minutes doing an activity where I'm both moving my body and enjoying myself.
Health
Go Get A Check Up
Regular health check-ups help prevent problems before they start. I will schedule or attend a medical, dental, or mental health check-up to take care of my well-being. I will develop a plan with my medical professionals to achieve my best health and live my life to the fullest.
Nature
Learn How to Save the Pollinators
I will spend 20 minutes learning which plants support local native pollinators and grow some in containers, a campus garden, or at home if space allows.
Simplicity
Go for a Daily Walk
I will take a walk each day to clear my mind, get some fresh air, and support my physical and mental health as a student.
Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will try to shop at a farmers market or food co-op, if one is accessible, to support local farmers and businesses. By doing so, I may be able to learn more about who produces the food I eat and goods I buy.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
I will replace 30 minutes per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 per day.
Nature
Go For A Daily Walk in Nature
I will take a 30-minute walk outside each day around my campus, neighborhood, or local green space to connect with nature.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow did exercising each day impact your physical or mental well-being? What activity did you enjoy most, and why?
Alison Perreault 7/16/2026 2:40 PMI enjoy walking and pilates the most. They help quiet my brain and be more productive because I was active. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What fruits or vegetables did you try this week, and which was your favorite?
Alison Perreault 7/16/2026 2:39 PMI didn't try anything new this week, but did have Zucchini, Corn and cucumbers that my son picked from the farm he is working at. Fresh picked vegetables are the best and this is my favorite time of year in New England with all the local produce. -
Alison Perreault 7/09/2026 2:42 PMIt was great to have sunshine again today and spend a little time outside in Nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Alison Perreault 7/08/2026 1:49 PMI can unplug appliances when not using. I can also not use the dryer and hang things outside to dry, which I was able to do today. -
Alison Perreault 7/07/2026 6:16 PMThe rain was crazy today causing 8 hours driving and 4 hours in meetings, not getting home until after dark and still raining so no outside activity. -
Alison Perreault 7/03/2026 12:20 PMI went to the local farmer's market with my son today and we bought fresh picked blueberries and raw milk, in a glass bottle. My son was thinking of ways to reuse the bottle when finished. -
Alison Perreault 7/02/2026 10:14 AMLeading into a big holiday weekend, I find myself thinking about how to make best decisions to not use plastic. Tonight I will be joining friends at the beach and am planning what containers to pack and how the food will be shared etc. Holidays are tough as the easy answer is alway paper plates, plastic cups and silverware. -
Alison Perreault 7/01/2026 1:31 PMI thought yesterday was July 1st and purposefully got up extra early to spend time outside, I was a day early. Travelling for work this week and brought both hot and cold reusables with me to avoid using plastic!
