  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Support Pollution Reduction
What environmental factors affect human health in your region, and how do they affect it?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:23 PM
Air pollution. When coal or another fossil fuel is burned for electricity, it can release things like carbon dioxide, methane, and, Nitrous Oxide, which can negatively affect human health.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:10 PM
I grew up with it, as long as I can remember we have had a cabinet for water bottles that I've always used whenever I go anywhere.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:08 PM
Instead of giving up on things like clothes or furniture we could take them apart and use the materials to make new things, like a pillow.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:07 PM
It makes me feel good and less wasteful. Also, it makes me feel like my entire family is less wasteful because none of us use plastic or paper cups.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:05 PM
I notice more intricate details. Like Patterns on leaves or cracks in the sidewalk. Also, I often feel like my mind is clearer after going for a walk instead of staying in or driving.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 6:03 PM
I am trying to shift my sleep patterns so I can go to bed earlier and wake up earlier so I can do more and feel more awake/prepared in the mornings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Learn About Renewable Energy
What inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 5:58 PM
Climate Change. The planet heating up seems like something people should be taking more seriously and we can do that by burning less fossil fuels.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 5:35 PM
I agree, I think if we take time to celebrate the sunrise and sunset is a great way to be thankful for what we have and what we have been given.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Conserve Toilet Water
What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 12/11/2023 5:34 PM
In Our Area, I think we could use rainwater instead. I think the amount of water we waste needs to change, so instead of using so much, we could make our way to utilize natural water in the form of rain.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Noah Puckett's avatar
    Noah Puckett 11/21/2023 3:51 PM
It addresses this transition by ensuring an ecologically sound way to transport and keep foods fresh as they are being moved.
