Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 12/11/2023 8:13 PMI went out on a walk with a friend and we observed how the leaves change color pretty fast and it was beautiful. -

Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 12/11/2023 7:06 PMYou get to see more things than just driving past it and while walking you can see more things and be more relaxed and breathe fresh air. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 12/11/2023 7:33 AMOur main water source is in Black Mountain in eastern Buncombe County. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Reduce refined sugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Learn More about Food ApartheidWhat can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?
Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 11/20/2023 5:25 PMThe lack of access to nutritious food can affect a community by spreading diseases and making people chronically ill, Having access to nutritious foods can help our community become more resilient by giving us good food to eat and our heath would be so much better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITESIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 11/20/2023 4:20 PMWell we have a landfill somewhat near the area where we live which is in Buncombe County and that is one of the landfills, the communities that are mostly affected by this location is probably the Buncombe County. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 11/20/2023 3:19 PMI found out that you can not recycle plastic bags and then I realized that plastic bags are a big thing people use and many people leave them on the ground or sometimes I've seen people at school throw them in the trash, another thing I found out that we can not recycle was any plastic wraps and sometimes people use it for food or something else but we need to think about where we are supposed to throw it away -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go For A Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Lily Ramirez-Vasquez 11/09/2023 5:42 AMThis helps me motivated to write 3 things I am grateful for because in my head I think about it, and I am just in a good and happy mood and I try and spread happiness so more people can be happy.
