REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Practice Gratitude for EarthKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Daylyn Reese 11/27/2023 4:57 PMA sense of gratitude does lead to a sense of moral obligation because when you are grateful for something, you feel as though you must protect it. We can cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society by practicing meditation and a positive mindset. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Spend Time OutsideRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
Daylyn Reese 11/27/2023 4:36 PMI'm not a spiritual person; but, I do feel the most at peace when I am out in nature. I have always enjoyed spending time outside and found it very regenerative. I believe that a culture that spends most of its time indoors is not only missing out but may fail to see the big picture that nature frequently paints. -

Daylyn Reese 11/13/2023 3:32 PMThere isn't anybody in my immediate vicinity; but, the Marine Corps bases nearby (Pendleton & Miramar) frequently have water pollution areas and times when marines are advised not to drink tap water due to contamination. This is true for many military bases and may contribute to the later in life negative health effects felt by many veterans. -
