Dennis Reynolds 2/04/2024 10:28 PMThis past saturday i had the chance to visit the farmer's market and chat with the vendors. I met the mushroom man who always has the biggest selection of fungi. He said that his farm is several acres and doesnt require sunlight unlike any other farmer I talked to. This sparked my curiosity and I did a little research to find out that indoor mushrooms require about 2 gallons of water per square foot per day, according to this guide by Family Mushroom Farming. That seems like a lot of water but considering how much nutrients is packed in that square foot, it might be worth the costs. -
Dennis Reynolds 1/28/2024 6:27 PMBiking is such an enjoyable activity for me that I would do it even if I was spewing C02 everywhere I go. Luckily it doesn't and it is by far the most environmentally friendly way to get anywhere beyond walking distance. I am fortunate to live close enough to work and school to be able to walk but when a destination is over the bridge, I will chose my bike every time. I enjoy the exercise, convenience, and individuality that my bike gives me. I don't have to shape my schedule around bus pickups and I have absolute freedom as to when and where I can go places. Just this week for instance, I was able to go to a hardware store across town with relative ease and zero impact on the environment.
