  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
How does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/21/2023 9:58 AM
I think food sovereignty can address access to food on a global scale if we can advocate for the issue and get more people aware of food apartheid. If the majority of people, or very powerful people can take the necessary steps to taking back control of our food systems, our Earth can eventually become a healthier more equitable place.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/19/2023 8:27 AM
There are actually a ton of helpful options, like the organization Hard2Recycle. Also, something I forgot about was the fact that a lot of things can be recycled and disposed of just by finding them a new home. For example, a lot of tech stores will take used tech.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/19/2023 7:44 AM
If I have a good closet of basics and a few good clothes that I can wear over and over again that feel authentically me, I'm still expressing who I am by what I wear.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/19/2023 7:41 AM
My top core values are authenticity, optimism, balance, fun, and adventure. These are the things that are the most important for me to have in my life right now, and I narrowed it down by imagining what I want my life to be like for the next few months and what the constant was.

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/19/2023 7:25 AM
I like to run outside and with friends. It allows me to explore my community and being with friends motivates me to keep going.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?

    Marta Rosal's avatar
    Marta Rosal 11/19/2023 7:20 AM
Being outside gives me the chance to relax and rest my brain and also think in different ways than I would have. I find that my creativity always boosts when I'm out in nature.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Marta Rosal's avatar

Without these fresh, healthy foods, our bodies can start to become weaker. As a whole if a community doesn’t have access to fresh, nutrient rich food, it will suffer because everyone will become unhealthy. Nutritious food helps to fuel your body, and your mind. It will have a huge impact on individuals making them feel stronger and happier, which will in turn affect the community as a whole.
