Some other easy things that we can do to save energy and reduce our environmental footprint include turning off lights, opt for natural lighting, and spend more time outside!

What is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?

The main water source in the San Diego region is the Colorado River.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Caroline Saple's avatar
    Caroline Saple 2/09/2024 10:46 AM
I only feel that I have opted for bottled water when I am "in a pinch" or out an about and I don't have a reusable water bottle on hand. I try my best to bring my water bottle with me wherever I go and plan to continue this habit!

Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

    Caroline Saple's avatar
    Caroline Saple 2/02/2024 1:32 PM
I love this assertion! I have also heard the saying "let food be thy medicine," and I choose to live according to this as much as I can. I find investing in nourishing foods to be a good use of my finances. Ultimately, I'm sure that keeping up with my health now and paying the extra dollar will be much less expensive than medical expenses in the future.

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Caroline Saple's avatar
    Caroline Saple 1/23/2024 9:46 PM
I can invite friends to workout with me, whether that is to go for a swim, a hike, or to the gym! I also lead a circuit training class on campus, so I like to invite my friends to join to foster community.

This day, I reflected on Scripture using the lectio divinia method. I would love to spend more time doing this style of meditation and reflect more on the Word of God.
