REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 9:00 PMlitering. When people do this and throw things into the water it will poison the water and harm the ecosystem living in the water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterHow do you think climate change will affect your region’s water supply? Think about the effects of weather, storms, salinity, and sea level rise, among other changes. How can you find out more about climate change’s impact to your region's water?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 8:58 PMIt will defiantly hurt the water supply due to decreased water predictability. We will not know the amount of supply that we can rely on having. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 8:54 PMIt offers a more resilient alternative to the modern food system.-
yun bai 4/20/2025 2:36 AMIts core is to embed local resilience in the global supply chain, replace "one-way dependence" with "diversified collaboration" and achieve a dynamic balance between self-determination and complementarity.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWho is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 8:30 PMThe people affected most are those who are in the lower class. This is because when land is needed for projects those are the first people that can be forced to move away. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 8:27 PMIn dunmore there is a landfill. The main issue for the surrounding community is the smell from the landfill. There is also a highway right next to the landfill which again can cause a bad smell for the driver. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 7:10 PMThere really isn't anything preventing me from doing this. When ever I drink something that would require a mug I use a reusable one. It is nice to know how many things I do that contribute to the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 7:08 PMGetting a reusable water bottle is more expensive then using bottled water. Some people just don't have the money to make a purchase like that. Also in some areas the water is not clean which makes it easier to buy bottled water. I can make this a permanent habit by continuing to use a renewable water bottle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Ben Shea (201) 4/19/2025 2:38 PMIt might cost more money. Therefore people who don’t have a lot of money can not eat as much meat. Eating more meat can have a negative effect on the environment.
