REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversations benefit from active listening?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:26 AMActively listening to someone felt meaningful because it helped me focus fully on what they were saying instead of just thinking about how to respond. It made the conversation feel more genuine and respectful. Both people benefited because active listening built trust, reduced misunderstandings, and made the other person feel heard and valued. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:21 AMMy top core values are kindness, honesty, faith, growth, and balance. I chose these because they guide how I treat others and how I live my life. My faith gives me strength and direction, kindness and honesty help me build trust, growth motivates me to keep learning, and balance reminds me to care for both myself and others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhy is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:20 AMVoting is important because it lets us shape a fair and sustainable world by choosing leaders who care about people and the planet. We can also make a difference by volunteering, joining community projects, and speaking up about important issues. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:20 AMCreativity is essential for practicing simplicity because it helps us find new and meaningful ways to live with less. Being creative allows us to reuse or repurpose what we already have, find joy in simple activities, and solve problems without always buying something new. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:18 AMI’ve noticed that I often buy things out of convenience, like packaged snacks or fast food, instead of thinking about sustainability. So, i'll need to work on that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureKathleen Dean Moore says that a sense of gratitude leads to a sense of moral obligation. Do you agree? How can we cultivate a sense of gratitude as individuals, and as a society?
Liberty Shoemaker901 10/23/2025 10:17 AMI agree with Kathleen Dean Moore that feeling grateful can lead to a sense of responsibility. When we appreciate what we have, we’re more likely to care for it and for others. We can build gratitude by reflecting on what we’re thankful for, spending time in nature, and helping others. -

Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth."
