ABY RASHEL's actions
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Health
Joyful Movement
I will spend 20 minutes doing an activity where I'm both moving my body and enjoying myself.
Health
Eliminate Toxic Plastics
I will avoid buying toxic plastics - including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl - and instead replace them with durable non-plastic options.
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 10 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 5 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 40 minute(s) each day.
Health
Practice Loving-Kindness Meditation
I will spend 20 minutes practicing Loving-Kindness Meditation to nurture love and compassion for myself and others.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 133 lbs of CO2 a month and 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Nature
Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.

ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/21/2025 6:49 AMRemembering to work on my action items was not easy, at least not with the things that I did not do so often, as spending minutes outdoors. However, small actions make a difference on a larger scale if done correctly, efficiently, and constantly. An action that I will continue doing even though the ecochallenge is done, is exercising, skipping the straw, and spending minutes being mindful.-

ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/14/2025 5:30 PMI wonder which of your actions for this challenge has been the most difficult to do every day. For me, it's definitely skipping the straw. I haven't figured out how to refuse the straw at restaurants without sounding rude. -
ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/12/2025 9:35 PMDue to the hot weather, I am drinking more water than usual, but I guess that's good, isn't it?-

ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/09/2025 9:30 AMIt's nice to eat fruits early in the morning, it gives a feeling of freshness, plus a natural sugary flavor. -
ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/08/2025 5:17 PMWe had no energy today at school, and sooner or later, I realized it made us socialize more than ever. We talked to each other like there were no barriers between us.-
Larissa Castillo 5/09/2025 6:24 AMYes, you are right everyone just went to play and really get to know how does it looked like without energy.

ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/07/2025 3:20 PMI brought a turtle to school today. It's for a project. Carrying it around with me the whole day and letting my friends pet it made me remember that to care for the environment, we also have to care for ourselves and our overall well-being.-

ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/04/2025 8:06 PMToday I decided to cook outside the house, enjoying the weather while it was sunny. Honestly, it was TOO sunny, but nothing better than compensating it with a great meal. -
ABY RASHEL VILLATORO NAJERA 5/03/2025 12:55 PMToday, I noticed that people are exercising more, spending more time with family or friends, and even taking morning walks. Surely this has something to do with the new tendency on social media about staying fit, however, it is good to see that at least people are looking for alternatives to entertain themselves rather than just grabbing electronic devices to kill time.
