Wellesley's actions
Transportation
Drive Less
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Transportation
Walk Instead
I will walk 10 mile(s) each day instead of driving and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Transportation
Use Public Transit
I will use public transit 30 mile(s) each day and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Transportation
Stay on the Ground
Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally).
Water
Use Reusable Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 5 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Water
Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
I will save up to 8 gallons (30 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Simplicity
Go For A Daily Walk Outside
I will take a walk outside for 30 minutes each day.
Simplicity
Limit Social Media
I will limit my social media use to once each day reducing my daily use by 60 minute(s)
Simplicity
Mindfulness Practice
I will spend 30 minute(s) per day practicing Mindfulness.
Waste

Health
Go get a check up
I will make an appointment for my annual physical.
Health
Know My health
I will get my Core Four Biometrics tests (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and BMI).
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Know My healthHow do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?
Wellesley White 11/23/2023 4:17 PMI seclude myself. I also do activities that I enjoy. I would tell other people to do the same. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Go get a check upHow do you practice self care?
Wellesley White 11/23/2023 4:16 PMI shower regularly, brush my teeth twice a day, apply deodorant multiple times daily, and as needed. I brush my hair and apply lotion multiple times a day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Use Reusable BottlesWhat are some of the needs that water meets or benefits that water provides for you?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Brush My Teeth Without Running WaterWhat is the main water source in your region? If you don't know, how could you find out?
Wellesley White 11/23/2023 4:13 PMRivers and beaches are. I could find this out by looking it up online. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Prevent Recycling ContaminationWhat have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?
Wellesley White 11/23/2023 4:12 PMPlastic, cardboard, cans, and paper can be recycled. The most difficult part is not being able to recycle, due to my living situation, after doing it my whole life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Drive LessHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Public TransitThe US spends roughly 20% of its federal budget on defense. In contrast, 2% goes to education, 20% goes to social security and just 3% goes to transportation infrastructure. Do these numbers surprise you at all? Why or why not? How would you adjust them if you could?
Wellesley White 11/23/2023 4:09 PMThis does not surprise me. The transportation and education departments need more funding. I would give much more to these departments, and less to the other 2 departments. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Walk InsteadHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Does this statistic describe your own transportation habits? If so, how might you incorporate more muscle-powered transportation in your daily life?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go For A Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Mindfulness PracticeWhat best helped you with your Mindfulness Practice? How does Mindfulness keep you grounded and sustain your work with compassion?
