  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Evan Winchell (cho 901) 10/06/2023 7:28 PM
I value honesty, dedication and especially kindness. I narrowed these down because honesty is something that I feel like should not be asked for but should be expected among people I hang out with since I feel like needing to lie and deceive is just horrible (unless under certain circumstances). Dedication is something I always valued in my life, and kindness is something that just helps to keep the world a happy and joyful place.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Track my Purchases
What have you noticed about your purchases? Where are you inclined to make shifts, if any?

    Evan Winchell (cho 901) 10/06/2023 6:00 PM
My purchases are mostly just food and essentials, I am inclined to make a shift to buying a few things that I do not need but I want, like maybe some snacks that I do not need but they will make me happier. Overall though I do not believe I will be making many shifts.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nature Go for a Daily Walk
How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

    Evan Winchell (cho 901)'s avatar
    Evan Winchell (cho 901) 10/05/2023 11:09 AM
Everything seems more peaceful and also feels like everything is more connected. It made me feel very calm whereas when I drive everything feels far more chaotic and fast paced.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Simplicity Go For A Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

Some simple things are turning off the lights when you leave a room, making sure to not leave fans on when you aren't home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Evan Winchell (cho 901)'s avatar
    Evan Winchell (cho 901) 10/04/2023 7:41 PM
Pollution, climate change and urban waste all cause harm to our water system. One thing to do to try to help improve the health of the water systems is to try to have less pollution of harmful substances by reducing the amount they go down the drain.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
