What conversations you had with others about it? -Most of the conversations that I have had about it have been negative. I often get asked why I chose to do it, so I just responded that I am doing it for a class. It's also a good opportunity to bring up the different environmental factors that the meat industry brings. For example, the...

One barrier to using reusable bottles and tap water is that it is really inconvenient . I usually have my dorm fridge filled with plastic water bottles and just grab one whenever I am thirsty. I also carry them around with me all day. By using a reusable bottle, I can look for refilling stations around campus and reduce my use of plastic bottles.

I can talk to my parents and brothers about finding ways to use clean energy and show them what I have learned in this class.

I use plastic baggies when I make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every morning so I can eat them throughout the day. I use a lot of those. I could find a reusable wrap for them so I am not throwing out so much plastic each day.

Those numbers really surprise me. Transportation infrastructure is so important. If we don't have the infrastructure for our roads and railways, how are we going to transport goods and services that will improve our economy? It makes no sense. Infrastructure is the foundation of our country and needs to be maintained regularly.

It cost more to buy, transport, feed, and raise animals used for their meat. Eating meat leaves a huge carbon footprint.

I am starting to notice that now that it is getting colder outside and I am spending more time inside, I enjoy my walks outside even if it is for a short time. Getting outside and getting fresh air every day has been a good way for me to de-stress

Overall, my ecochallenge is going well. I am trying to save water by running the water in the sinks less and taking shorter showers. I also am trying to drive less and walk more. One thing I learned is how easy it is to save water. Most of the time we run water and waste it without even thinking about it. Even just shutting it off between...

My campus challenge is going well! I am hitting my mark of 60 minutes of exercise a day. I am able to get outside and see the changes in nature while we go into a different season and it gets colder. The things I am doing is lifting and playing football outside everyday. Something I am learning is that each day there is something changing with...

I have chosen to eat organic food and whole food for my challenge. I thought about doing this challenge after we heard about all of the run off from pesticides and other bi products of non organic farming. Buying these foods supports the smaller farmers with the inability to farm on a macro scale. Those same farmers that do large scale produce...
