There are over 1800 people participating, and each and every one has a story about how these little changes are making a difference. Just think if 1800 people just saved one gallon of water a day for 30 days. That’s 54,000 gallons of water. That’s about 20 fire trucks worth of water. You all make a difference e,

Definitely the hardest thing that I set out to do during this challenge is get adequate sleep! It seems there is always so much to do and people to talk to and hang out with that I find myself staying up way too late and my next morning suffers because of it. I don't have the energy I need to, to bike in the morning, which then leads to me not wanting to eat right, because I am then too tired to cook, and then the bad food causes my body to be even more tired and it seems like this cycle repeats itself. With all that being said, I am not trying to be a negative Nancy just an observation I had, The first 2 weeks of this challenge when I was sleeping at 9 PM and waking up at 6 AM I had the most energy and was more outgoing and more myself but I saw my friends and people less. So this is where I think a lot of people might struggle with being environmentally conscious. Just an observation

It’s true, but sometimes we are just up too late because of our electronic distractions. It’s all about balance.

Personally, going on hikes gives me time to think/reflect and disconnect from everything. Walking a quiet trail while not listening to music lets me sit with my own thoughts and come to peace with where I am at in the world and my place in it.

It’s been a wonderful day, and I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. I’m house sitting for a friend and that includes feeding the birds, raccoons, and deer. Four baby raccoons today!

Day 17 of 24! It's hard to believe how quickly this challenge has gone by. Seeing everyone's progress and encouraging one another has made it easier to stay motivated. Every small step adds up, and these daily habits are becoming part of our routine. Let's finish these last few days strong :)

When I go for a hike, life slows down. I only have birds to listen to, frogs, the smell of the prairie on a hot afternoon... it makes everything else I do calmer and less stressful. There's a reason that we go for a walk when we need to "cool down."

We're officially at the halfway point of the challenge, great job, everyone! Let's keep encouraging each other and carry these positive habits beyond the challenge. Small, consistent actions really do make a lasting difference :)
