I learned about different sustainable farming practices and community involved sustainability. When I think of sustainability, it is hard for me to feel like what I am doing is making a huge difference or what ways I can practice sustainability. Watching this documentary gave me new ideas and helped me realize that being in community with...

I have always felt connected to sunsets. They are my favorite part of the day and have always been one of the most beautiful aspects of nature to me. I would consider sitting and watching the sunset as a religious experience because I get to sit in the silence and reflect on my day while looking at the beauty of the sun setting on the day.

This week was a busy week for keeping up with the challenges, due to thanksgiving it was a lot of soul-searching and spending time with family, and it was great to reflect on the challenges. I shared with the family how to live more sustainable and share goals with the community.

I watched Seaspiracy with my roommate, Daniel, whom was surprised and inspired by the information about the fishing industry. It is cool to see my friend become more and more passionate about sustainability by showing him unique forms of media like documentaries!

Being of service to your neighbors and friends is not only enriching, but beneficial to all individuals involved in the process! Today I helped my friend John figure out whether or not he can surf due to his medical complications.

One thing that I am extra grateful for is that I live so close to so many natural experiences. This makes it much easier and convenient to spend time doing a different, engaging activity besides being on my phone. I just finished surfing for 2 hours and I feel more energized than my phone could ever!

When I walk around Point Loma, I am able to pick up on the sounds emulating from my community. I can hear the waves crashing, the wind blowing, seagulls chirping, and neighbors chatting.

One thing that I know impacts the health of water systems, from first hand experience, is untreated sewage leaks into the ocean. The Playa del Rey sewage plant spilled over 17 million gallons of untreated sewage into the pacific ocean right off the coast of Los Angeles. Although this issue is more representative of structural/organizational...

I think that practicing gratitude can keep oneself centered and motivated to work for a better world because it can help deflect the stress and anxiety that dampens the hope for a better world.
