People in wealthier countries tend to consume more meat than those in poorer countries due to higher incomes and the availability of meat products.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

To reduce my electricity usage, I can do a few different things. I can turn off lights and appliances when I am not directly using them. I can take shorter showers. I can unplug devices when they are not in use. I can replace incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs. And much more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    • 15-DAY STREAK
Considering how many hours of sleep I get now, I would definitely want to shift my sleeping patterns. I go to bed late and I think it would be very beneficial if I went to bed maybe 2 hours earlier. I think I should get off my phone around 10 so that it doesn't distract me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Trash on the floor and not recycling correctly.

Focusing on being more environmentally friendly so that I can bring others to do the same.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
How do you think climate change will affect your region’s water supply? Think about the effects of weather, storms, salinity, and sea level rise, among other changes. How can you find out more about climate change’s impact to your region's water?

Luckily, we aren't around any seawater, so it wouldn't affect us much.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

Usually when I'm going to church, I prefer to ride with my parents so that we don't use more carbon than what we have to.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health
Who is most affected by environmental degration and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?

    Ian Pérez's avatar
    Ian Pérez 4/17/2025 8:11 AM
Farmers are most affected. Since they use the same water system, if it is contaminated, it is unusable, which means a loss of profit.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

Bottled water is so accessible that it makes it easier to use, but using a reusable bottle means you don't have to pick up a bottle of water.
