Social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community by discouraging people to participate. If people are being discriminated, they might feel helpless in making a change.

When I practiced mindful eating, I noticed that I was having more conversations with the people around me. When I eat while using my phone, I do not talk to anyone. I also noticed that with mindful eating I took more time eating and when I use my phone I eat fast.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

Reducing my paper mail makes me feel like I am making a change because there is less paper, I have to throw into a recycling bin. My next step in reducing my waste is receiving store receipts electronically rather than taking the paper receipt.
