Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

I love using a reusable water bottle, I find that it is so much more convenient to bring it with me and also be provided with cold water wherever I go.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Meet My Local Farmers
When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

I talked to my dad about the usage of pesticides on the almonds we farm in the Central Valley. I found that the advantages of becoming interconnected within the food process down to the farming industry is having a newfound sense of pride in what you eat. Ultimately knowing where your food is sourced from grants you a new dynamic of the meals you create and consume.

      Hi Christina,
This was a really interesting blurb to read. I believe that the whole mindset of slowing down and being mindful around food, and in your case almonds from the Central Valley offers a newfound sense of pride that can lead to further education and advantages from that specific industry.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

By identifying the reduction of waste through utilizing the reusable mug, I feel more sustainable in my personal actions. Although, it seems to be minimal, I know that it'll help by encouraging my roommates to also follow suit to reduce our overall daily waste.
