  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

I usually dont take long showers, 10 minutes max so I set a timer to make sure that I did not go over 5 minutes.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Today I worked with my landlord on her garden, planting some new native hawaiian plants.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Mia McCutcheon 10/09/2023 3:08 PM
I chose to ride my bike to a restaurant instead of driving, and the experienced differed in that everything was slowed down and I was more able to appreciate my surroundings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Whole Food Lifestyle
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

    Mia McCutcheon's avatar
    Mia McCutcheon 10/09/2023 3:02 PM
I believe that this assertion is correct, as it's better to eat healthy, unprocessed foods than to end up needing hospital services
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Prevent Recycling Contamination
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

I found that in Hawaii, you cannot recycle the type of thin cardboard that has graphics, such as a cereal box and only corrugated cardboard is accepted.
